The Knightsbrook Golf Club Seniors’ Committee has conducted a review of its competitions to date. Thanks to all those who have supported the weekly competitions and the Seniors’ Matchplay. Following a sub-committee review and feedback from seniors, the committee has decided to introduce an internal handicapping system similar to that used in the Winter and Spring Leagues as follows:
The winner’s handicap will be reduced by 1, the runner up by 0.5 for the duration of 9 hole re-entry competitions. These adjustments do not affect a members GUIhandicap but the committee feels may add a little more competitiveness to the weekly competition.
Senior members are reminded that Senior Golfer of the Year points are awarded to the winner of the 9 hole re-entry competition on the first full week of each month, (July 7th – 10th) for the majors and for Seniors’ Matchplay.
An up to date points chart is displayed in the Club house. Matchplay points will be awarded later.
The club has the facility to operate the 9 hole competition as a regular GUI competition for the purpose of handicaps, where members could reduce their official handicap or gain .1 as per normal competitions. Your ideas and feedback on this would be appreciated.
Thanks for your participation and any further suggestions are welcome.
