With great sadness, we hear the news of the passing of Des (Dessie) Keegan, our second Captain of Knightsbrook Golf Club in 2008. Des followed in the footsteps of his great friend, Oliver Perkins who was the inaugural Captain at the Club 2006/2007 and sadly passed away 18 months ago. Des served the club with distinction as a committee member, as vice-captain and he was very proud to be Captain.

The photograph above tells the story of Des, a fun-loving man who enjoyed the craic, loved his golf and delighted in a bit of mischief! One could always depend on Des for an enjoyable game of golf with plenty of laughs. Des was also a very competitive golfer and very difficult to beat especially if there was any mention of a bet! On behalf of all the members, we extend sincere sympathies to his wife Mary,  his son John, both also former members of the club, Dessie’s daughters Catherine (Katie), Susan and Elaine and all the extended Keegan family.
