Knightsbrook Golf Club has lost a cherished member and a dear friend in John Walshe. John was witty, gentle and kind. His humour and sense of fun will be greatly missed around the fairways. Ar Dheis Dé go raibh a anam. The Captain, Ger Reilly and the Lady Captain, Anne Geraghty have paid tribute to John describing him as ‘a true gentleman’. Tributes to John have been consistent describing him as gentle, kind and witty with a wicked sense of fun. In recent years, John’s golf was all about socialising and enjoying the banter and fun. However, he sometimes displayed golfing skills which indicated that, in his heyday, he was no mean golfer. The members of Knightsbrook extend their deepest condolences to his wife Maureen, daughters Bernadette and Linda, grandchildren Laura, Reilly, Sinead and Luc, brothers Francis and Peter, sisters Joan, Maura, Sal and Imelda, Maureen’s sons and daughters Gerard, Aidan, Adrienne, Peter and Nuala, nieces, nephews extended family and friends.
