Knightsbrook Golf Club is sad to announce the passing of Mr Oliver Perkins, inaugural Captain and former President of Knightsbrook Golf Club. Oliver was a leading figure in the club when it opened in 2006 but also played a pivotal role in the development of the Knightsbrook Hotel, Spa and Golf Course. He was a trusted adviser to the Cusack family and a wise counsel to Knightsbrook Golf Club in his official roles. He will be remembered for his wisdom, calmness and above all his wit. He always enjoyed a chuckle and was self-deprecating about his golf, which he enjoyed playing so much. Oliver was not only a very keen golfer but was also a very good and competitive golfer until an old rugby injury curtailed his appearances on the golf course in later years. Despite his lack of active golf, he remained loyal to Knightsbrook to the end and always appeared at major social functions to support the club and its officials. He could always be relied on for a word of advice. Oliver’s contribution to Knightsbrook cannot be underestimated and we owe him a deep debt of gratitude. Oliver was also a member, official and Captain at the Heath Golf Club in Laois before moving to Trim.
Knightsbrook Golf Club committees and members extend our deepest sympathies to his wife, Kathleen, sons Liam and Conor, daughters in law, Lauren and Melissa and grandchildren Keely, Ruby, Macy and Kyson. Sympathies also to Oliver’s sister Bridget and extended family and friends
