Men’s Captain, John Tobin and Lady Captain, Angela Reilly “drove-off” into office on Sunday morning last, watched by a very large number of members and guests. The celebrations began with the ceremonial planting of a tree to mark the occasion on the ninth hole. The Captains received a pleasant surprise when they were paraded to the first tee by a traditional Irish bagpiper and number of John’s colleagues in the Irish Ex-Servicemen Organisation from Trim.

Following a champagne reception and the usual presentations on the first tee, both Captains drove off with great encouragement from the large attendance. Members enjoyed a 9 hole four-person team scramble competition followed by a buffet lunch. Both Captains’ addressed their guests and wished all members in attendance a great golfing year ahead. The winners of the 9 hole scramble competition were announced and received vouchers.
