Congratulations to our victorious Barton Cup team who beat Moyvalley GC (3-2) on Sunday afternoon in what was a triumphant inter-club season opener for the Men’s club.

Our “Away pairing” of Joe Rayfus and Nick Power won a fantastic point (3&2) over in Moyvalley GC, while at home in Knightsbrook GC, Alban Lawless and Vice-Captain, Damian McDonnell ran out easy (4&3) winners in the middle match at home.

In what was a very tight affair up front, the final and decisive match winning point went all the way to the 19th hole at home in Knightsbrook GC, and eventually won out by the experienced matchplay pairing of Colin Rayfus & Donal Geraghty.

In the next round the club can look forward to an Away fixture against near neighbours Co. Meath GC or Killeen Castle GC. (To be played before May 7th). Thanks to the many club supporters and members who came out and cheered on the team.
