Congratulations to Darren Billings, winner of the Captain’s prize 2011 with the fabulous score of 66. More tha 140 members played, a new record for our major competitions and a fitting tribute to our Captain, Jonathan Cusack who was a fantastic host to all who participated throughout the day. Refreshments at the ninth green ensured that all who ventured around the back nine were happy and well sustained for the challenge! Thank you to Captain Jonathan for a wonderful day and a very enjoyable social evening and dinner. 170 people sat dow to an excellent meal and fitting tributes were paid to the 2011 Captain. Martin Hickey, one of our members made a specially commissioned photo to the Captain to mark the occasion. The Captain thanked all participants, the course and bar staff, Knightsbrook PLC and the Director of Golf, Gavin Hunt for all their work during the year. He thanked the Men’s Committee for its ongoing work to ensure that the affairs of the club run smoothly throughout the year. “A lot of the work done is taken for granted and few understands the amount of effort and time put in to organizing competitions, processing cards, sending results to papers organizing prizes and updating handicaps and the website.” The Captain presented a cheque for €300 to Johnny Lyons, for Downs Syndrome Ireland, proceeds of

the Captain’s charity on the day.
