Lady Captain Mary Higgins and Captain Leonard Flynn held a very successful captains’ prizes day on August the 17th. Afterwards, both captains hosted a most enjoyable captains’ dinner and prize giving followed by a social night, where members enjoyed music and dance into the early morning hours. Frank Leonard won Leonard Flynn’s captain’s prize, Frank’s first ever captain’s prize win in over 40 years of playing golf. Marie Gordon was the winner of Lady Captain Mary Higgins’s prize. Both captains presented a variety of prizes including monthly medals club championships and Super Sunday awards. Both captains thanked all present and congratulated the winners. They were fulsome in their praise of the course staff and Mr Peter Igoe for the continued excellent condition of the golf course and to the Director of Golf, Kate Jones, Ben and Keith for their help and support throughout the year. They also complimented the bar and catering staff who served up a beautiful meal
