Knightsbrook Golf Club members were shocked to learn of the untimely and sudden passing of Brendan Greene who was a very loyal member of the club for many years. While aware that Brendan had been unwell and undergoing treatment, members were saddened to hear of his passing at such a young age. Brendan was always positive and approached his illness with the same positivity and acceptance and never complained. We extend our sympathies to his beloved partner Debbie, his son Wayne and his daughter Nicole his brothers Joseph and Peter, and his sister Olivia. We also extend our sympathies to Brendan’s dear friend and fellow member of Knightsbrook Golf Club, Martin Meegan. Brendan’s funeral took place in Dunboyne on Friday.

Over 50 members of the club including the President, the Captain, the Vice Captain, former captains and committee members formed a guard of honour alongside the cortege from the funeral home to the church and on Brendan’s final journey from the church grounds, evidence of the high esteem in which Brendan was held by all the members at Knightsbrook Golf Club.
